You Are Here - Teen Summer Reading Program

“You Are Here!” For Teens, ages 12-18

Registration packets are available at the library.  Just for signing up, you'll get your hands on free ice cream, free pizza, and a free pass to a Wisconsin historical site or museum.  Come back and fill out a slip for every book your read for a chance to win great weekly prizes!  Plus,  take a look at these fantastic summer reading program events!

Kick-off Event  Enjoy extreme arts & crafts as we design and create a summer reading program sign to decorate our teen space.


Tuesday, June 21 @ 10:00 p.m.

"Let’s Make-up!” by actors from the Missoula Children’s Theater. This participatory workshop explores the importance  of make-up  in the theater.


Wednesday, June 22 @ 1:00 p.m.

T-Shirt Decorating  Come get creative at the library!  Bring a blank clothing item to decorate with tie-dye and puffy paint!


Wednesday, June 29 @ 1:00 p.m.

The Art of Mendhi  Learn about the historical and cultural aspects of the art of Mendhi and then use washable marker to create your own body art!


Wenesday, July 6 @1:00 p.m.

Mask Making  Draw inspiration from Japanese Kabuki theater masks and African tribal masks to design & create your own felt mask.


Wednesday, July 13 @ 1:00 p.m.

Folktale Frenzy  Join us as we share a variety of cultures’ folktales and get a chance to write your own .  Immediately following this program will be Green Lake Festival of Music's "Circle of Sound" - Students of the Green Lake Festival of Music chamber workshop perform for ALL ages!


Wednesday, July 20 @ 1:00 p.m.

Global Cooking  Prepare and enjoy delicious snacks from cultures around the world.  Take a recipe to share at home.


Wednesday, July 27 @ 2:30 p.m.

THE Spoon Man! Get spooned—which is better than getting forked, or knifed! Enjoy the antics of a married man, with 5 kids, who makes a living playing the spoons! NO KIDDING!


Movie Travelogue

The library is also hosting a Movie Travelogue for teens and adults.  Films are based on popular travel-themed books.  (All films are rated PG-13.)
