TV Turn-Off Week

The Ripon Public Library, in conjunction with Ripon College’s Office of Community Engagement, is pleased to announce a schedule of free family events. In combined recognition of Earth Day, and Television Turn-Off week, offerings will focus on enjoying the natural world, and turning off the television (and other electronics) in favor of physical activities.

On Sunday, April 18 from 1:30—3:30 p.m. enjoy “GAMING Around the Library.” This event will feature food, fun, and games such as BINGO, Twister, Jenga, Cranium, other assorted board games, card games, and more!

Tuesday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. features “Green Grows…” in the Silver Creek Room. Participants will enjoy a “plant-based” storytime and then have the opportunity to decorate their own pot and plant some seeds. Take it home and watch it grow!!

On Thursday, April 22, EARTH DAY, at 3:30 p.m. in the Silver Creek Room, participants will learn about “Recycling and the Earth: Fun Ways to Use Everyday Materials.” Enjoy a “recycling-based” storytime followed by a craft activity in which participants will make a game out of materials easily found at home.

On Friday, April 23 from 6-7:30 p.m. skip down to “Fun and Games on the Green” next to Horicon Bank. Get off the couch and outdoors for a myriad of family friendly games and activities such as Frisbee, sidewalk chalk competitions, ladder golf, sack races, and more.
