 rt Dietrich Presents: Never Givin' Up: The Music and Life of Al Jarreau \
 nAl Jarreau was one of the great singers of the latter 20th and early 21st
  century. Born and raised in Milwaukee\, by the age of four he was singing
  in public and was soon performing concerts in Milwaukee. Al attended Ripo
 n College and the University of Iowa before heading to the West Coast\, wh
 ere he won six Grammy awards and became one of the most revered musicians 
 of his generation.\nThis talk will follow Jarreau’s life\, career and mu
 sic\, complete with musical examples. Special attention will be paid to hi
 s years at Ripon College.\nKurt Dietrich retired as a music professor at R
 ipon College in 2019 after teaching since 1980. He studied at Lawrence and
  Northwestern Universities and UW-Madison. He remains an active performing
  musician.\nBooks will be available for purchase. Kurt will be happy to si
